Sen. Cliff Branan to run for Oklahoma Corporation Commission

State Sen. Cliff Branan announced Monday that he will be a candidate for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
“What’s good for the energy industry is good for Oklahoma,” said Branan, R-Oklahoma City, who currently serves as chairman of the state Senate Energy, Telecommunications and Environment Committee.
Branan said promoting economic development and jobs would be his top priorities as a corporation commissioner.
Branan said Larry Nichols, executive chairman of Devon Energy Corp.; Greg Love, president of Love’s development companies; Brian Bingman, president pro tem of the state Senate; and Harold Hamm, chief executive officer of Continental Resources, have agreed to co-chair his campaign.
